We all know review bombing, the process by which crowds of people rate a game or movie with a low user score to express dissatisfaction or in an act of bad faith. When Overwatch 2 dropped on Steam in August, it also landed at the very top of the platform’s worst-reviewed games list. The “reasons” for the review bombing varied—some of it was related to the fallout between Blizzard and the Chinese company NetEase that brought its games to the territory, while some came from disgruntled fans unhappy with the state of the game, its battle pass business model, and everything that’s happened to the PvE suite promised in 2019. In the time since, Overwatch 2 moved to the second-lowest reviewed game on Steam behind War of the Three Kingdoms. — KS
