Today I was working with headphones on and missed two calls from my mother. My birthday is tomorrow. About 3 p.m., Mom sent me a terse IM asking that I call her immediately.
“When are you going to be home tomorrow?”
I apologized for missing the calls and explained my work schedule.
“OK,” Mom said, “I’m going to schedule this for 11 a.m. You need to be home then, and make sure your apartment’s picked up and nice.”
Now what the hell is this all about?
