Idea: Stop Watching Movie Trailers
It’s been almost a year since I stopped watching trailers. And I couldn’t be happier. That’s worth considering if you’re losing your mind about an 88-second trailer for a Star Wars movie that won’t be out for another 12 months. The end for me came with, of all things, Captain America. Like pretty much every…

Fan Remake Shut Down. This Is Never A Good Idea.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines was a very interesting game that, for all its many problems (it’s kinda broken), has a core of very loyal fans. Because the original game is a mess, some of those fans wanted to remake the game and clean it up. And they would have got away with it too,…

It’s only been out for a matter of days, but Far Cry 4 has already proven itself quite the treasure trove. Before it was released, an easter egg was discovered that was actually an alternate ending. Amiibo Nearly Wins Super Smash Bros Tournament
A Fox Amiibo—as in, a CPU-controlled version of a character housed in a tiny action figure—took third place in a Smash Bros tournament against real humans. It was a Fox Amiibo. Of course it was Fox. Twitch streamer dazee recounted the tale in a series of tweets (as spotted by NeoGAF). At a local Smash…

UncategorizedSomeone Made A Documentary About GTA V’s…Ocean
Not only that, but the documentary is actually pretty damn good. I’m not sure how scientific this video by 8-BIT BASTARD, and it kind of doesn’t matter. It’s great to watch the marine wildlife just do its thing, and to listen to 8-BIT BASTARD come up with rationalizations for why everything acts the way it…

UncategorizedFive Minutes of Assassin’s Creed Unity At Its Most Ridiculous
Things get pretty hilarious when you stop trying to be a master assassin in Unity. The ever-amusing Criken2 shows us some highlights of his playthrough of Unity, where you will find tons of hijinks. I’m especially fond of when he decides to play the game as Shove The Adults Out of The Way Simulator. Who…

UncategorizedThe Proudest Moment Of My World Of Warcraft Career
From lowly newbie Shaman to decorated General of the Alliance with his own castle stronghold in a little over a month. I could definitely get used to this. This was definitely my favorite moment of the World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor expansion so far — when what was once just a rough assemblage of…

EsportsTop Counter-Strike Players Caught In Big Cheating Scandal
To say that all is not well in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive‘s pro scene would be a massive understatement. Multiple pros have been caught cheating by Valve’s official anti-cheat software, and even more are suspected. It all started when a semi-pro German player named Simon “smn” Beck got banned by the E-Sports Entertainment Association’s tools. Given…

Someone Is Making Five Nights At Freddy’s Even Scarier
On its own, Five Nights at Freddy’s can bea terrifying, tense experience. Now imagine that you’re playing against other actual people, and not just computer-controlled animatronics. Sounds like it would be a more intense experience, yeah? While you’re trying your best to watch all the cameras, three other people get the chance to try to…

UncategorizedGlitched Out Smash Bros. Does Horrible Things To Nintendo’s Finest
I wouldn’t blame anyone for looking at this footage and confusing it for a Smash Bros. knockoff, or a rejected Nintendo game. Just look at how messed-up the characters look. It’s almost like they’re crying out in pain, waiting for someone to end their suffering. But no, it’s definitely the Wii U version of Smash…

How To Get Far Cry 4 Running More Smoothly on PC
Far Cry 4, Ubisoft’s new bird-attack simulator, is a very nice-looking game. Unfortunately, a lot of PC gamers are having issues getting it to run smoothly. The game is generally a lot of fun, but the PC version suffers from regular micro-stutter, an issue with which PC gamers are becoming all too familiar. If you’ve…

Super Smash Bros. Wii U: The Kotaku Review
The first time I picked up a controller and turned on the Wii U version of Smash Bros., I felt relief. I was about to play the game the way it was meant to be played: on a TV, with Gamecube controllers, and with as many friends as I could find. That reaction may seem…

UncategorizedGrand Theft Auto V’s Biggest Mystery Is Getting Even Weirder
There were already weird things connected to the highest point in Grand Theft Auto V‘s sprawling fake Los Angeles. Secret messages. Instructional glyphs on an enigmatic mural. UFOs that appear only under certain conditions. Off-kilter stuff for a gritty, mostly down-to-earth game like GTA V. But, with release of new-gen versions of Rockstar’s hit, the…
