Three Bloodborne Enemies Who Are Just The Worst
Each enemy in Bloodborne is a jerk in its own way, but some are worse jerks than others. I’ve played a ton of Bloodborne over the last several weeks. I’ve killed pretty much every enemy in the game, many times over. After all that, three enemies—excluding Hunters and bosses—stand out. I hate them so much.…

UncategorizedThere Are Several Promising PC Mods For GTA V Already
Rockstar Games isn’t officially supporting mods for Grand Theft Auto V, but that’s not stopping clever players. The game is slowly being opened up, and chances are, this is only the beginning. GameSpot asked Rockstar about modding last week, and it didn’t paint a welcoming picture. Modding took off for GTA IV PC. What are…

UncategorizedOne of Mortal Kombat’s New Characters is Gay
A bunch of new characters are ripping each other’s body parts out in Mortal Kombat X. That’s nothing new in the decades-old fighting series. But, a gay character? That is definitely new. Kung Jin—a one of the new Shaolin Monks fighting for Earthrealm—appears to be the first gay male character in Mortal Kombat. The revelation…

Rejoice, Diddy Kong haters. The latest Smash Bros. patch has changed the annoying chimp, making him a bit less of a powerhouse than he was before. CultureAmnesia‘s Pokémon Mod Lets You Battle And Evolve… Furniture
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is regarded by many as one of the scariest games of all time. Now it has monster battling. Some of the monsters are furniture. Amnesia‘s Monster mod is the most beautiful sort of absurdity. It’s a Pokémon-inspired custom story where instead of creeping through a haunted castle from hell, you explore…

Archie Is Comics’ Ballsiest Publisher Right Now
This week, there’s a comic where a Predator from the movies of the same name stalks Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead. A newly dead body drips blood all over America’s favorite lily-white teenagers as the alien hunter observes them from a tree branch above. Of course, they never look up. So freakin’ great. Archie comic…

UncategorizedBloodborne’s Cruelest Joke
Bloodborne is a punk. A savage, brutal punk—and I’m not just saying this because of all the challenging encounters with werewolves and tentacle monsters. As we’ve chronicled in the past, Souls games do have a sense of humor. A twisted sense of humor, but they have a funny bone just the same. Bloodborne is no different!…

UncategorizedMortal Kombat X’s Krypt Makes Unlocking Random Crap A Blast
There’s nothing I like better in a fighting game than a large amount of unlockable goodies, and there’s no better way to distribute new fatalities, costumes and concept art like Mortal Kombat X’s Krypt. The latest iteration of Mortal Kombat continues the series’ fine tradition of being incredibly generous with the extras and finding fun…

UncategorizedAnnoying Dark Souls 2 Glitch Has Gone Unfixed For Nearly A Year
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin runs at a terrific frame rate, and it’s great! Unfortunately, that introduces a glitch that degrades your weapons really fast, and From Software doesn’t seem to care. Weapon degradation is not new to the Souls games. It’s possible to induce degradation by hitting dead bodies or striking…

UncategorizedGTA V PC Runs Pretty Well In Ultra HD, If You’ve Got The Hardware
Having played Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox 360 and again on the Xbox One, I didn;t grab a copy of the PC version for the story or the multiplayer—I got it for those sweet 3840 x 2160 ultra HD graphics. So far I’m very pleased. After Rockstar released the first set of 4K…

The Very Good Ideas Hiding In A Not-So-Good New Pokémon Game
Pokémon Rumble World, a game likely to rank a distant third in the eventual list of 2015’s best Pokémon games, has nonetheless impressed me in a few ways. It might not be easy for a Pokémon Rumble game to impress anyone. They’re not traditional Pokémon games. Never have been. You don’t play as a plucky…

UncategorizedTitanic As A SNES RPG
The largest ship of the early 20th century would also be one of the smallest JRPG settings, as seen in this video by CineFix. The clip is based on the 1997 movie with visuals similar to that era and man that’s one of the funniest usage of Final Fantasy VI tilesets I’ve seen. To contact…
