UncategorizedThis Is One Hell Of A Video Game Trailer
In this line of work, you see a lot of trailers. Almost all the trailers. So it takes a lot to make me sit up and go “wow, that’s a good video game trailer”. That’s pretty much what happened with Not A Hero’s launch clip, though. The narration is a masterpiece, a priceless work of…

UncategorizedLeague Of Legends vs Fire Emblem Is Joke, But Should Be Real
There’s one Fire Emblem crossover coming already, but this one—if it was actually real—would be way more interesting. Randy Nova’s excellent video reimagines LoL as a Fire Emblem game, complete with soundtrack, grid, turn-based combat and pithy combat chatter. I’m not the world’s biggest LoL fan, but joke video or not, I would play the…

I Didn’t ‘Get’ DOTA 2 Until I Watched It Live
I’ve tried watching DOTA 2 online. I’ve tried playing it. It just wasn’t for me. Going to a big pro event changed that. Walking into the Red Bull Battlegrounds DOTA 2 event at The Warfield in San Francisco (it’s a venue, not a, er, field of war) was kinda surreal. For one, I’d seen countless…

League of Legends Pro Quits, Burns Every Bridge On His Way Out
Burnt out and tired of playing for a losing team, professional League of Legends player Austin “Link” Shin announced last night that he was leaving the game. UPDATE (7:12pm): Well now here’s an interesting addendum. UncategorizedRock Paper Scissors Video Game Works Surprisingly Well
I never knew I wanted a Western-themed rhythm game with rock paper scissors until just now. Sifting through game jam entries can be thrilling and boring, a chance to explore an endless sea of creativity and an opportunity to drown in games with interesting ideas but poor execution. Now, however, the games have been voted…

CultureAn Unfinished Game About Finishing An Unfinished Game
Sometimes, the stars align a little too perfectly. The Magic Circle, from former BioShock 2 director and recent Kotaku Asks participant Jordan Thomas, is now on Steam Early Access. This means that it’s unfinished, which is wonderful when paired with the fact that the game is about these things: “You are the protagonist of an…

The latest seasons of the Flash and Arrow TV series have been throwing new heroes like Firestorm, the Atom and others at viewers left and right. Now, a bunch of them are forming a team. It’s not the Justice League, but it’s damn close. More like a modern-day Justice Society? Legends of Tomorrow will assemble…

UncategorizedSorry About This GTA V Mod, PETA
We’ve heard tales of cats rampaging through GTA V’s city of Los Santos. But what about people rampaging by way of cats? Like: using a gun that fires fuzzy little monsters instead of bullets? Once again, your wish is a modder’s command. YouTuber taltigolt published a video last night showing Franklin rampaging through Vespucci beach…
