Fallout 4, Reimagined As An Isometric Game

Fallout 1 & 2 were isometric games. Fallout 4 is not. But because the first two were a big inspiration for Stasis developer and artist Chris Bischoff, and because Stasis is also an isometric game, he’s gone and imagined Fallout 4 as one too That fluttering sound you hear is millions of people’s hearts wishing…

Hideo Kojima’s Sad Farewell To Metal Gear

It starts slow, and feels a little self-indulgent. But this Metal Gear Solid V debriefing ends with something of a genuine tear-jerker. Sorta like the games themselves. It’s funny as I was watching this I felt a little frustrated. This 10 minute video was essentially a montage of people telling Hideo Kojima how great he…

Watch Me Qualify For A Heroes Of Storm Rank [Update: Rekt.]

I got rank 40. I don’t want to talk about it. Thank you everyone for watching! /// Alright people. It all comes down to this. I have one shot. Or, technically, five shots. Heroes of the Storm reset its ranking system recently, meaning everyone playing has to go through 20 qualifying matches before receiving a…

Glitch Makes GTA V Look Like An N64 Game

A reader sent this over today, and at first I thought it was a mod. Nope, turns out it’s a glitch in GTA V, one which sucks pretty much all the textures and detail out of Los Santos, leaving one of the best-looking games on the planet looking more like something you’d find on an…

Love At First Frostbite

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen cosplayers make this joke, but it’s definitely the best. Sub Zero is Danquish, Elsa is Deanna Sarkar, photo by Martin Wong (via Dorkly)

The Best Story From Destiny’s Hidden Lore

Destiny’s story has been a punchline since the game came out. Story? What story? Destiny has a story? Good joke! And yeah, okay, yeah. Fair enough. This article was originally published on September 1, 2015. Of course, there is a lot of careful world-building going on in Destiny. You just wouldn’t know it from playing…

Metal Gear Has Had Some Amazing Art, Yo

For nearly twenty years now, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has featured some of the most iconic characters and design in the business. As we say goodbye to Hideo Kojima’s involvement with the series—and maybe the series itself—I figured today was a good time to look back on the best of Metal Gear’s art. Most…

League Of Legends Just Nerfed Azir, Hard

The desert soldier Azir has been a powerful presence for much of League of Legends’ current season, with the mage being picked or banned in practically every major tournament game. Now little more than a month away from the World Championship, Riot is finally knocking the guy down a peg. To those unfamiliar: Azir is…

Metal Gear Solid V Players Uncover A New P.T. Easter Egg

Silent Hills might be dead, but Kojima sure as hell ain’t letting the memory fade away. Earlier this year, we caught a glimpse of a P.T. easter egg that allowed Metal Gear Solid players to use Lisa, P.T.’s infamous ghost, as a distraction against enemies. But that’s not the only Silent Hills shout-out in the…

Mad Max’s PC Version Runs Really Well (So Far)

Maybe you’ll like Mad Max more than Kotaku’s Chris Suellentrop did, and if you’re gonna be playing on the PC, I’ve got some good news. Warner Bros.’ track record with the PC lately is not so great. While Shadow of Mordor was excellent, Mortal Kombat X and Batman: Arkham Knight were both trainwrecks. With Batman,…

Here you can see two King Leorics cast their giant-tomb-summoning ults so they cinch together perfectly, creating a closed rectangle that looks very scary to be stuck inside. Is this the Heroes of the Storm equivalent of a WWE “Hell In A Cell” cage match, as xWretchedWorldx described it on Reddit? Yes. Yes it is.

Steam Is Getting An Uncensored Sex Game

Kindred Spirits on the Roof is a game about two ghosts who are eternally bound to a school—and the only way they can finally rest in peace is if they get to bone each other. Really. Steam has gotten a number of erotic games like this over the past year, many of which have been…

Against All Odds, Cloud9 Makes It Into The League Of Legends World Championship

Last night, the storied American League of Legends team Cloud9 (C9) beat Team Liquid 3-1 in a best of five tournament match, securing themselves a spot in the upcoming World Championship in the process. Doing so completed one of the greatest comebacks in League eSports history. The North American League of Legends Championship Series finals…
