ReviewsMultiplatformApex Legends: The Kotaku Review
I don’t try to be the best in battle royale games. I don’t troll or anything, but I’m not as concerned with skillful wins as I am with having fun or coming away with an exciting story. But Apex Legends makes me want to try. I also get some great stories in the process. Apex…

Warframe‘s Take On The ‘Battle Pass’ Is A Clever, Episodic Radio Drama
Digital Extremes has overhauled the daily alert system in its free-to-play loot shooter Warframe, something that had been in place for six years, and replaced it with a battle pass system called Nightwave that weaves its reward structure into a larger story. What Are You Playing This Weekend?
The weekend is for cleaning the bathroom so I can live out my longstanding plan to watch new Chef’s Table while taking a bath. It’s also for video games! I didn’t have time to complete the requisite Fortnite challenges to get the new battle pass for free, but I have enough V-bucks saved that I don’t…

Scorbunny, one of the starter Pokémon for the newly announced Pokémon Sword and Shield, is a sweet lil bunny, and I love him. He’s also the source of some concern among Pokémon fans. The First Dead Or Alive 6 Season Pass Costs $93
It’s rare that a season pass for a game costs $33 more than the game itself. Dead or Alive 6 owners can now drop nearly a hundred bucks on two new characters and 62 costumes. Considering downloadable content costs for the previous game, that could be a bargain. Prices for the season pass bundle, now…

Anthem‘s Worst Boss Is So Bad It’s Not Even Worth Fighting
I’m well on my way to hitting the 100-hour mark in my time with Anthem, in part because it’s my goddamn job but also because I’m a glutton for the grind. In all my time with BioWare’s loot shooter, however, nothing in the diverse array of bugs nor the plethora of petty inconveniences has filled…

ReviewsMultiplatformDead Or Alive 6: The Kotaku Review
Despite several years of being best-known for its sexiness, Dead or Alive has always been a genuinely good fighting game franchise. With a focus on bringing new players into the fold and downplaying its more provocative features, Dead or Alive 6 serves as a strong reminder of the solid gameplay that has always remained at…

UncategorizedWhat Makes This Japanese Zombie Movie So Great Is A Spoiler
Throughout last year, I keep hearing how terrific the Japanese zombie flick One Cut of the Dead was. And I kept putting off seeing it. I thought I had seen it all when it came to horror movies, especially zombie ones. I was wrong. Shot for under $30,000, One Cut of the Dead was made…

Kotaku EastK-Pop Pick Of The Day: Love Options
Korean indie music is all well and good, but sometimes you’re in the mood to listen to slickly cheerful popstragavanzas injected straight into your veins. BESTie’s Love Options may be your best, ahem, option. BESTie was a relatively short-lived group, even by K-Pop standards; they debuted in 2013 and released their final songs in 2015.…

It’s The Perfect Time To Return To Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Recently, a friend of mine started playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the first time. This has had an interesting side effect: Any time I try to play anything else, I just wish I were playing Breath of the Wild. My ironclad resolve to continue making my way through games I hadn’t…

UncategorizedThe Next Pokémon Might Be Set In The UK, And Scottish Twitter Is Thrilled [Correction]
The prospect of the new Pokémon game being possibly set in the UK has amused some fans, and I’m laughing along with them. In order to understand these jokes, you’re first going to have to explain the concept of Scottish Twitter. Regional Twitters have regional dialects.
