Lots of interesting information hitting today about a possible new Playstation Portable 2. Not sure why Acclaim’s David Perry would be spilling the beans, but I can’t imagine he’s just making it up. Besides, I’ve been hearing from other folks now too. Most saying the new PSP would be cosmetic changes only, no major chip changes.
A PSP without a UMD would make sense on a bunch of levels, including size, expense and battery life, but what about all of that news that hit yesterday for the current PSP model?
I can’t imagine they would announce anything until GDC at the earliest, and really wouldn’t expect anything until E3.
Nintendo’s rolling out the DSi, so I suppose it could be time for a new PSP. What do you think?
