Nacon is trying to hype everyone up less than a day after closing game studio Spiders. Xbox announces more updates and showcases. And Tales of Eternia is coming back. It’s your daily Checkpoint roundup for April 30, 2026, where everyone is sharing their favorite meal prep tips. Mine is currently Greek salads with sardine toast. Yes, I saw it on Instagram. Nacon charges ahead with its showcase after shuttering RPG studio Spiders
The publisher, currently facing insolvency, previously delayed its gaming showcase due to, well, all of the legal issues it’s currently navigating. Now, barely 24 hours after GreedFall maker Spiders officially confirmed it is shutting down, Nacon has revealed its showcase will now air on May 7.
A union representing Spiders employees has blamed Nacon for running the studio into the ground and has called on players not to give it any more of their money. “We refuse to see the group responsible for Spiders’ abrupt end pillaging the still-warm body of our jobs. Although we hope that our games will still be enjoyed, we would like players to avoid giving their money to Nacon, as it would reward the group for its actions,” SJTV wrote in a statement.
The French labor group continues, “Despite the industry’s deafening silence on the collapse of the second biggest video games employer in France, the fight will continue after Spiders’ death. We will do everything in our power to ensure Spiders’ and Nacon’s malice and mismanagement, which appear to be premeditated, from going unpunished.”
British Fallout is getting a TV adaptation
Atomfall, a very neat post-apocalyptic open-world RPG, is the latest video game to get the TV treatment. Deadline reports that Two Brothers Pictures, the production company behind hit shows like Fleabag and The Assassin, will be leading the production, with the Atomfall studio heads producing.
“Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team,” Two Brothers Pictures cofounders Harry and Jack Williams said. “Especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers. There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television.”
‘Zelda meets Tomb Raider‘ Japanese PS1 game finally gets translated by fans
Tiny Bullets was released back in 2000 and never made it out of Japan. It follows a young boy trying to fight his way out of a tower run by a powerful demon. It was one of the last Sony-published games to come out on PS1, arriving after the PS2 had already shipped. Fans have now made it playable for the first time in English (via Time Extension).
