Sanyo News reports that this is a tour bus driver from the Ryobi Group in Osaka. The company has banned drivers from having mobile phones while they’re behind the wheel and apologized for the incident.

This comes after deadly accidents have been blamed on Pokémon Go drivers in Japan and abroad.

It’s funny. Despite being here in Japan for 7+ years, I just got my license a few weeks ago. My wife and I live in Tokyo, so there really is no need for a car, but she wants to travel more during vacation times, which means it was time for me to get a license so I can rent cars in the future.

However, after I passed my driving test, the instructor spent TWENTY minutes talking about the dangers of playing Pokemon Go while driving. I kid you not. TWENTY. MINUTES. I couldn’t believe how long and how serious he was, but after seeing stuff like this and the couple deaths months ago, Japan is really coming down hard on Pokemon Go playing drivers.

But it goes to show, some people are even willing to lose their jobs over a game addiction. This bus driver will feel the pain of this mistake for a long while, that’s for sure.
