Summary
Iron Curtain Call is a fast-paced first-person shooter drawn in the style of rubber hose cartoons and set in an absurd alternate 1965, where World War III is run by a customer service AI and fought by armies of wind-up robots. Combat rewards aggression: punching robots restores health, prying them open yields ammunition and setting them on fire builds armor, while double jumps, air dashes, a grappling hook and parries keep the player moving through its arenas.
The campaign spans twelve chapters, each aimed at a satirical target of the Cold War era and closed by a theatrical boss, from a game show studio and a carnival election to a world’s fair and a moon base. Its arsenal treats diplomacy as a weapon, with a shotgun called the Diplomat, a typewriter, a rotary telephone and a cash register among its guns.
