I like stealth games. I like mobile games I can play with one hand so I don’t have to decide between playing and holding the subway pole. I like Card Thief I’ve been playing this card-based stealth game for iOS (available now for $1.99) on all my commutes since it came out last week. As…
April’s PlayStation Plus lineup features a launch game, Drawn to Death, as well some older games you might have missed. Co-op Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a lot of fun if you enjoy yelling at your friends under the guise of teamwork. Remember, these games are only “free” if you have an active PlayStation…
Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy gets its first episode, “Tangled Up In Blue,” April 18. It’s coming to consoles, computers, and mobile.
The beautifully-written survival exploration game Sunless Sea came to iPad last week. It feels right at home on mobile. You play as a sea captain in a steampunk/Lovecraftian/fantasy version of London that’s fallen beneath the surface of the earth and onto a subterranean sea. You set out from your home port of Fallen London in…
Weekends are for your roommate being away so you have no shame about sitting on the couch and shouting at the TV while eating nothing but pizza for two days. Also, video games. I’m finally into the Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3. Someone who is TOTALLY NOT ME started it last weekend…
If you haven’t caught up on Season Two of Telltale’s The Walking Dead or missed Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Xbox Live’s Games with Gold has you covered for April. Paying subscribers to Xbox Live can grab these four games for “free”if they have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. April’s Games with Gold are: Xbox One Ryse:…
Weekends are for admitting that dish you made in your crockpot really didn’t come out well so you can give up on eating it and try something new. The crockpot is great because, while it does its thing, you can play video games! I’m almost done with the Hearts of Stone DLC for The Witcher…
We’re playing Mass Effect: Andromeda over on Facebook. Check it out:
Weekends are for returning those shoes you bought because you keep putting it off and if you end up running out of time on the return you’re gonna feel like an idiot. Also, video games. I’m going to tinker around in Ghost Recon Wildlands a bit more. I don’t love playing it solo, but it’s…
Here’s the full recording of Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Satoru Takizawa, and Takuhiro Dohta’s talk about Breath of the Wild from last week’s Game Developers Conference.
Flinthook is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 April 18. We enjoyed it a lot at last year’s PAX East
Rain World is coming to PS4 and PC March 28th. Look at the cat. Bug? Cat bug? Anyway if I get it killed I’m gonna cry. Here’s a trailer.
PlayStation 4’s Software Update 4.50 comes out tomorrow. We’ll finally see external hard drive support, as well as boost mode for the Pro. Some of the changes were detailed when the patch went into beta, such as custom wallpapers and a simplified notification list. The PS4 Pro will get boost mode, though it won’t be available…
Morphblade, a new PC game by Gunpoint developer Tom Francis, has the allure of ‘one more round’ that would make it a great mobile game. I’m glad it’s not, though, because I already miss my subway stops enough. Morphblade takes place on a board made up of hexagons. Hexes give you random different abilities, though…
I hope you’re all enjoying your Switches if you bought one/if it actually arrived/if you don’t own an aquarium. My parents wouldn’t let me have Nintendo stuff as a kid, so I kind of missed the boat. Luckily this month is packed with awesome games, so whatever your preferred platform, there’s plenty to play! I’m…
Sunless Sea’s iPad version has a release date of March 23. It will require iOS8 or higher and be compatible with iPad Pro, Air, Air 2, and higher.
The Game Developer’s Choice Awards were last night, and you’ll be shocked to learn Overwatch won “Game of the Year.” But there were other awards too, because there are other games. There are games besides Overwatch you guys. The GDC Awards are voted on by folks in the industry, so the nominees and winners always…
March’s PlayStation Plus offerings include the lovely-looking Tearaway Unfolded for the PS4 and Severed for the Vita, which we enjoyed. As usual, these games are only free if you have an active PlayStation Plus membership. PS4 Disc Jam Tearaway Unfolded PS3 Under Night: In-Birth Earth Defense Force 2025 PS Vita Lumo (crossbuy on PS4) Severed
Cities: Skylines will get a mass transit expansion that adds cable cars, ferries, blimps, and new commuter hubs. I’m excited for anything that puts less cars on the disastrous roads I can’t keep myself from building.
Thimbleweed Park will be out March 30 for Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. The developers say other platforms will follow later.
