Here’s November’s Xbox Live Games With Gold Lineup

Tales from the Borderlands is another one of those games I own on multiple platforms but still haven’t gotten around to playing. If you’re in the same boat, Xbox Live Games with Gold has you covered this month. As always, these games are only “free” if you have an active Xbox Live Games with Gold…

We’re live on Facebook getting our tarot read with Brooklyn-based professional tarot reader, Arthur Lipp-Bonewits.

Hitman Will Get New Campaign, Return Of Elusive Targets

Hitman will get a Game of the Year Edition on November 7, IO announced today. It will bring a new campaign, new escalations, and a chance to try Elusive Targets you might have missed. It’s not Season Two, but it’s a ton of exciting new stuff. The new campaign, “Patient Zero,” will cross Sapienza, Bangkok,…

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for spending time with the cat you’re watching, i.e., turning down social obligations to pet a cat. Also, video games. I just got a Switch (I know!) which means I have been playing Stardew Valley for the first time (I know!). I have very little idea what I’m supposed to be doing…

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for seriously not being sick anymore, seriously. Also, video games. As ever, I will attempt to play The Witcher 3 then get distracted doing something else. Will this be the Overwatch even where I win something other than junk? (No. No, it will not.) What about you? What are you playing?

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition has been delayed from October 19 to “early 2018,” the developers announced today. They say that they “will instead be inviting thousands more players from the community into our closed beta” for more testing.

River-based survival game The Flame in the Flood is out for Nintendo Switch. The game’s day one Switch sales have been higher than for all other platforms. We had a good time with it on PC.

Oculus has announced the Oculus Go, a standalone VR device for $199 releasing early 2018. You can find out more about it on the Oculus developer site

Frostpunk Is A City-Builder Where You Can Eat The Dead

As a fan of any game with a temperature gauge, I’ve been excited about Frostpunk since the first snowy videos appeared. After playing a recent demo of the game’s opening hours, Frostpunk seems like it’s shaping up to be an interesting mix of city-building and survival. Frostpunkis currently in development by 11 Bit Studios, developers…

Creepy stealth game Echo, where the AI learn from what you do, comes to PS4 October 11. I loved the hell out of it on PC

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for figuring out what to do with the two pounds of squash you have in the freezer. Also, video games. I am more determined than ever to finish The Witcher 3. Come back next week for when I haven’t finished it. What about you? What are you playing?

The Witcher 3 Has Great Geese

There’s been some talk on Kotaku lately about geese, but not about The Witcher 3. Let’s fix that.   I love the geese in The Witcher 3. They get so flummoxed when you chase them. Look at their silly waddle and how they throw their wings in the air indignantly when they run away. Once I…

Witcher 3 Cosplay Is A Family Reunion

Luke Plunkett is on holiday, which means I must carry the torch of posting cool Witcher 3 cosplay in his absence. It is a terrible burden. This Witcher 3 cosplay comes from Russian photographer Nikolay Zarhov and features Lina Krakovski as Ciri and Roma Svirin as Geralt. I love the setting, even if seeing Geralt…

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for picking up that clean laundry on the floor because you can’t step over it forever, or at least that’s what your mom would say. Also, video games. Last night, after a shamefully long time away, I hopped back into The Witcher 3. I have forgotten all the buttons. When I left…

Metal Gear Solid V Is Free Next Month For PlayStation Plus Members

You can get Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with your PlayStation Plus membership in October. There’s also the Amnesia collection, which has both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs, two games I’m too scared to play. As always, these games are only “free” if you have an active PlayStation Plus account.…

Here’s October’s Xbox Live Games With Gold Lineup

If you haven’t played Gone Home yet, or at least haven’t played it on your couch, you can have the teenage feels in October’s Xbox Live Games with Gold. As always, these games are only “free” if you have an active Xbox Live Games with Gold subscription. October’s Games with Gold are: Xbox One Gone…

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for making a curry because Kotaku features editor Chris Kohler won’t stop posting pictures of the curries he’s eating in Japan right now. Also, video games. I’m going to try to work up the courage to play more Echo, because that game rules but I can only handle it in small, stressful…

Echo Is A Terrifying Game Where You Teach Enemies How To Kill You

In the new stealth video game Echo I’m surrounded by copies of myself, menacingly filling the hallway. There’s a door at my back, but I don’t want to open it. I raise my gun, but I know better than to shoot. I think, If only the lights would go off. The enemies close in. There…

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider: The Kotaku Review

Dishonored has always been about the journey more than the destination, discovering secrets in its levels and finding creative ways to fulfill its objectives. Death of the Outsider, the game’s new standalone DLC, stays true to this strength. It doesn’t reinvent the game, but it doesn’t need to. Narratively, Death of the Outsider fits with…

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

The weekend is for trying to parcel out a book you’re really enjoying so you don’t finish it too soon and have nothing to read on the subway. Also, video games. I’ll be playing Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, which we started today on Kotaku’s Facebook page. (Spoilers: guys get mad when you jump on…
