I Wish Skyrim Had Towns That Looked So Idyllic
Look at the colors. So peaceful. So pretty. Well, until they burn a witch or two. In their most recent dev diary, the folks behind alt history RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance gave several demonstrations of what normal day to day town life looks like in their game. Have a look: While I adore Skyrim, aesthetically…

A Hacking Game Where You Hijack the US Government
Anyone remember Uplink? Yeah, this game is like that, only not thirteen years old. Disrupt, as it’s called, is a deceptively simple-looking game, much like Uplink. It’s mostly text-based, as you can see in the trailer below: In-game, you’re a hacker who manages to gain access to the government’s NexOS, which gives you the ability…

That retro 3D roguelike-ish beat ’em up about dystopian robot love is now on Kickstarter. They aim to collect $20,000 to finish development on Heart&Slash. Interestingly, the top reward at $10,000 is a copy of the finished game’s code in C#, delivered six months after its Q1 2015 release. Haven’t seen that before.

No Final Fantasy X-3 on the way: In an interview with sgcafe.com, Square Enix game producer Shinji Hashimoto confirmed that the 30-minute audio drama included with the HD re-release of FFX and X-2 was merely a story to further expand the game’s universe, and that Square Enix has no plans to develop a FFX-3

Rust Bans Over 4,000 Cheaters [UPDATE: Developer Addresses Concerns]
Over the weekend, the developers of open-world ex-zombie survival game Rust have deployed their newly-created anti-cheat software on the official game servers. The result? 4,621 banned players. The software, called CheatPunch, is similar to Valve’s VAC system in that its bans are permanent and incontestable—if you’re banned, you’re banned. Period. No second chances. As studio…

Strider’s 25-Year History In Just Five Minutes
In 1989, marking the start of the blue-clad ninja’s two-and-a-half decade career, the first Strider game was released in arcades throughout Japan and North America. Indie Beat ‘Em Up Proves There’s No Love Like Robot Love
Poorly-explained, vague robot love at that. The best kind. What we have here is Heart&Slash, a retro-ish 3D beat ’em up with roguelike elements. The developer wanted to combine the fast-paced combat of brawlers like Bayonetta with the huge number of customization options seen in roguelike RPGs—basically, you’re a robot, and as you beat up…

After building an actual battleship that could reach the planet’s orbit and stay there, redditor avaslash created an improved version, taking it on a tour across the Kerbal solar system—getting as far as Jool, Kerbal Space Program‘s Jupiter. Because nothing is scarier than running out of (space) coffee. In Caffeine, a currently heavily in-development indie horror-adventure game, you step into the role of a little boy who wakes up to find himself on an abandoned spacecraft of some description. Of course, deserted corridors, bloodstains, and creepy, fast-moving shadows are soon to follow. Take…
