Star Wars Outlaws & Red Dead Redemption 2 Join PS Plus Extra

It’s getting hotter outside around my neck of the woods. That means I finally get to start watering my lawn, which is a relaxing way to wind down after work. And then, after I do my chores, I might check out Star Wars: Outlaws, Bramble, Red Dead Redemption II, or Time Crisis, which are some of the games being added to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalogs next week.

On May 13, PlayStation officially announced the next round of PS Plus Extra and Premium games that will be added to the subscription service’s game catalog. All of these newly revealed games will be available to start downloading and playing on May 19.

The biggest game is probably Star Wars Outlaws, a somewhat flawed open-world game set in that famous sci-fi galaxy. I really enjoyed exploring the incredibly detailed planets featured in Outlaws at launch, but now, after multiple big updates, the game has been improved a lot, including some much-needed changes to stealth gameplay. Now is a perfect time to hop in and walk around Tatooine. Another interesting inclusion is Time Crisis as part of the latest PS Plus Classics game. I wasn’t sold on the idea of playing Time Crisis on a standard controller, but according to the PlayStation Blog, this version of the lightgun shooter includes gyro support. I wonder how well that works?

Remember, to access, download, and play these PlayStation games you’ll need to be an active PS Plus Extra or Premium tier subscriber. Essential tier subscribers don’t get access to the game catalog. And if your subscription runs out in the future, you’ll no longer be able to play these games until you resubscribe.
