damn. i was so hoping this'd fix whatever bug caused my uncharted trophies to crap out, cause now i cant get the last 3..theyre not blacked out, theyre just not there at all anymore. if i do the requirement, i get the in-game medal and not the trophies. shit's horrible when you realize this haflway through crushing mode. @#$%
@cfive3: The 360 can be quite shitty in it's own respect >_> My friend has gotten the Red Ring 4 times this year on 2 different consoles while my PS3 is happily not screwing me over by pissing itself and dying.
Yeah, but the 360 has finally been fixed with the Jasper hardware update. So now there won't be anymore RROD, which means PS3 people will have almost nothing bad to say about 360.
@WarlordPayne: Not completely true I think. Considering 360s have been known to fail for a variety of reasons. It never ceases to amaze me that people find it so hard to believe that there are a good percentage of gamers that just simply don't want a 360.
Or are back on the sheep mentality that says that everyone has to own one and we all need an Iphone and you're not good people if you don't have money?
@EnigmaNemesis: @iFlingPoo: I had the Trophy-menu freeze while checking them out during my first try of Prince of Persia, but the problem wasn't to this extent. I just had to restart the machine (and, the game, since I hadn't saved up to that point).
@EnigmaNemesis: same here. no problems. I've been competing with a friend of mine (KylenX) to see who could get and maintain the highest trophy level. He's level 7, I'm level 6 at 72%. I haven't had a problem in my trophy whoring.
Although his two platinum trophies are killing me... :(
this happened to me and I nearly shit my pants when I thought I'd lost all my trophies, got things back up and running fairly quickly though. on the topic of trophies, does anyone know if Valkyria Chronicles is getting patched? I have it but haven't started it yet in case it gets patched.
@Steve Ramsey: the PS3 rules cos of it's games, same with all consoles.
@noliferuin (PSN+XBL): All my God, you actually said the PS3 rules because of its games? Oh my God which game? What one game makes a PS3 rule, for the love of all Gods, what game. LittleBigDisappointment or Home or Haze or Lair or the movie Metal Gear 4? Which one or is it because of the awesome ability to surf the internet to take the place of playing games? Sorry but glad you like the PS3 but don't push the Kool-Aid on the rest of the kiddies. MmmKay.
@Steve Ramsey: not realy, soon trophies will make trophies and home usefull. u can use them like an extra or a currency. nothing use useless except the NXE avatars.
@iFlingPoo: Rental, rental, dunno never saw anything about it, I already played this to hell and back three years ago and multi-console.
And Blu-Ray movies = Not worth it if you don't have a HDTV, and while yes, they're starting to be cheaper, it's still (with holiday "savings") 500$ for something I don't really need.
Cries of fanboyism are the ultimate proof of such things. Both of you are bad.
Yes, there are good games on the PS3, but the offering right now is very scarce, and unless you're planning on upgrading your entertainment room with HD (that's if you already didn't do so), you'd probably be better off with a 360.
Bang for the buck for a complete experience, yes the PS3 is worth the price of admission. Unless I'm wrong, we're discussing it's worth as a gaming console, and as such, it is not worth 400$.
@Steve Ramsey: Want a new gaming system and Blu-Ray? Get a PS3. Want a new gaming system and don't care about Blu-Ray? Get an X360.
PS3 is a really great deal; if you were to go with X360 and a separate $200 Blu-Ray player, said Blu-Ray player would be so cheaply made you'd be lucky to keep it working for a week.
Aside from BD playback, both the systems are pretty close to the same. All the big titles are multi-platform, and both systems have exclusives that are about the same amount of quality. Box boys are quick to bring up Lair and Haze on PS3 yet equally quick to forget about Fusion Frenzy 2 and Bomberman: Act Zero for the X360.
According to Metacritic, 5 of the top 20 PS3 games are exclusive while 5 of the top 20 X360 games are also exclusive. I'd say, in the end, that makes both systems damn close to identical. So, get the f*** over this whole damn thing.
@CommentatorHatman: Well, for those of us with jobs and money and nice big HD TVs, sounds like I made the right choice.
This isn't about PS3's worth as a console, it is about the trophy system, troll-a-licious. And trophies are like dog biscuits, your mom must love them.
@Đipic: Seriously. Anything with PS3 involved today has become a "my console is better than yours" war. First the LBP MGS stuff, now a problem with trophies, "OMG PS3 TOTALLY SUCKS" ?!?
@HueyFreeman: You must be kidding, or live in a fantasy-world.
The problems Sony have is with the software, not with the trophies themselves. The only difference is that there's been achievements in the 360 for far longer and on the 360 you get points, while on the PS3 you level up. But functionally? Pepsi and Coke are more different that achievements and trophies.

At times I wish we had a thumbs down feature or something.. but then again that'd just get abused too.

Achievements>Trophies
apparently if the trophies are locking games from your use by malfunctioning, then of course they are basically useless atm.
Achievements are perfect. Trophies have a way to go.

Pretty sad when Squaresofts BEST game is a fighting game, and on the psp.
In sort, ALL OF YOU SUCK.
