I have no photos to prove it, but my Gamestop was pretty mobbed, and i live in upstate New York...in other words, less people than say, North New Jersey or Southern New York.
Anyway, I won't argue that this Black Friday was as busy as previous years (there is no way) but Gamestop and the rest of the mall seemed to be doing absolutely fabulous today. I actually went to Toys R' Us to avoid any lines.*
*Note: Toys R' Us in upstate New York has a video game section that is, every time I go there, empty. No one besides me seems to go there. Today, there were like five people and two cashiers. Madness.
On a side note: my mall makes Black Friday awesome. The people in this area are pretty friendly, there was a live keyboard player with a guy on a mic in the food court, Christmas decorations everywhere...if I wasn't sleep deprived and out of my mind I would have been so very happy. I picked up Little big Planet on PSP and that really warmed my heart. Game is stellar.
I went to Gamestop this morning hoping for the PC version of L4D2 for 30 bucks, as well as MySims Agents for the Wii for 20 bucks for my gf, and they had neither game. Thanks for those great Black Friday specials! (BTW I was in the store at 6 when they opened. They didn't have them to begin with, it wasn't that they were sold out.)
Three DVDs from an outlet store for $3 each (Groundhog Day, a French/Canadian copy of Slither, and a copy of the Bloom County Christmas special), and two games from Steam (Madballs for $2, and KOTOR for $2.50).
Probably not overly impressive, but I didn't have to deal with a single mob of shoppers on the way.
That's some baaaad fashion sense in photo #8. (why the hell is a yellow outfit labelled 'Pink'? At first I thought it was 'Pika', which would have made more sense and been even more dorky)
No video games for me today, just a trip to SoHo for a bit of clothes shopping. Uniqlo had the best sale afaik. It was pretty packed, but when the hell is SoHo not packed?
@Altima NEO: That's very true, for the most part, nothing newish was at any sort of reasonable price at BB or Game Stop. Heck the only "sale" at GS was buy 2 get one free on USED games.
I did find a few cheapies in the old games bin at the Santana Row Best Buy, but still nothing to go foaming at the mouth about.
I went to 2 Gamestops and 1 EB Games and walked away with $77 worth of fantastic PS2 games to play on my bc PS3.
At both Gamestops there were more staff members than customers and this was at 8-9am. At EB Games though it was packed from wall-to-wall and I barely made it across the store to grab copies of Dark Cloud 2, .Hack//Link part 2, and the Final Fantasy XII Collectors Edition.
@CustomFirmware: Forgot about that part. I got the 9 games listed below.
Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2
.Hack//Link Part 1 Infection
.Hack//Link Part 2 Mutation
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater
Zone of the Enders
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII CE
RPGs and Tactical Espionage Games, nice! That's sure to be the biggest bang for your buck ever. It's like paying 5 cents an hour for all those games combined :P
I had a good Black Friday. I work grave hours at my place so being up and about in the early morning was no big deal for me.
It was a little chaotic in front of Best Buy, though, when a bunch of people for no apparent reason started congregating in front of the store, naturally forming a second line. In the end I got everything I wanted and probably had the most fun you're allowed to have on such a dreadful day.

Batman: Arkham Asylum: $39.99 @ kmart.
Considering that I purchased all the games I wanted prior to black friday, those 2 were a great deal and I got them on black friday.

Ordered it online though.
Steam's sales have been good so far. That THQ pack is a steal

What's intriguing is that it's where the copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 originally were.
I can't tell what game that is behind that copy of Bionic Commando, but it's not that, and it's not Modern Warfare 2.

My K-Mart began moving Halloween merchandise around about 2/3rds of the way into the month to make room for their Christmas items.

Got good DVD deals on Amazon, though.
- 30 Rock season 2 (13 dorra)
- Mad Men seasons 1/2 (14 dorra each)
- Curb Your Enthusiasm S.2/3 (15.49 dorra each)

Dorra? What country's currency is that!

It's $40 now, don't worry. It's just sitting where the copies of Modern Warfare 2 belong.
