Japanese gamers rang in the New Year by buying more Wiis than any other console, giving Nintendo the biggest slice of the pie this past week. But the PlayStation family wasn't too far behind.
The PSP and PlayStation 3 were behind the Wii, but sales were better than healthy for Sony, with the PlayStation maker moving more than 100,000 units of each during the first week of 2010. The Nintendo DS family—DS Lite, DSi and DSi LL—combined to sell another 224,000 portables in Japan during the week of December 28 to January 3.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 showed up, both outselling the last place PSPgo. At least the digital download only PlayStation Portable moved more this week than it did last. See? I can find a silver lining in any dark cloud!
