Some trademark filings make sense, or we can at least see where they're going. Neverdead? Sure. Someone's working on a zombie game. But then Ubisoft goes and uncorks "Horse Gaga" and yes, the mark is for a video game.
The possibilities here are too horrible to contemplate, and if they're alluding to the singer and the animal, Catherine the Great comes to mind first, not someone like Lady Godiva. Lady Gaga does appear astride a bored-looking equine in the music video for "Paparazzi." (Pictured)
The trademark covers "entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game for others over global and local area computer networks and providing information on-line relating to computer games, video games and computer and video games related products." It was filed by Ubisoft on March 23. The day before that they registered the domain name horsegaga.com. I hope no one was cybersquatting on those words; God only knows what they would have demanded in return for giving it up.
