About $25 on Steam this week, if you're a fan of the Total War series. Toys R Us has a dea; if you're already planning on grabbing one of this week's new releases.
Software
• Toys R Us is pegging next week's major releases to some serious savings on current titles. This is a pretty strong list for a major national retailer. Here's the deal, pick up any of these new releases:
Little League World Series, Resident Evil: Archive, Conduit (all for the Wii); Transformers, Overlord II or Fight Night Round 4 (multiplatform)
and you can take 60 percent off any of the following:
WWE Legends, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Street Fighter 4, Bionic Commando, Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry 4, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.
They also offer 50 percent off all game guides. The deal is listed online, but you can claim it in-store too. [ToysRUs.com]
• Steam's weekend sale is everything Total War: Buy Empire: Total War is $24.99 (usually $49.99); for $10 more you get Empire: Total War Elite Units; for $85 you can pick up the wholetotal shootin' match, a mega-pack that includes Medieval II: Total War, Rome: Total War - Gold, Rome: Total War - Alexander, and Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. That's a hell of a lot of war. [Steam]
• Digital distributor GamersGate also is running a dad's day special. Through Sunday you can pick up Godfather 2 ($24.99) Flock ($7.49) and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Soulstorm ($14.99) for half off. [GamersGate]
• GameStop's weekly ad lists a 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription for $39.99 ($10 off) and a 20 percent trade-in boost as an inducement for pre-ordering NCAA 10, due out in a few weeks. Sell 'em last year's model. [GameStop]
Hardware
• Get Dad a PS3 - or, use the day in his honor as an excuse to grab one for yourself. Target's offering an 80GB bundle - the console plus two games - for $399. You also get an extra controller.
Update: It's the Greatest Hits Bundle, which gives you the originals of Resistance and MotorStorm. Seems that this is a reissue of the bundle confirmed back in March. Sorry for the confusion. [via Target circular]
As always, smart gamers can find values any day of the week, so if you've run across a deal, share it with us in the comments.
