The Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks continue. This time, however, Cyberleek, the same person or group behind all the recent leaks, didn’t post a random clip of gameplay. Instead, the leaker shared what appears to be the game’s opening prologue featuring Lucia. So consider this a warning: GTA 6 story spoilers are now floating around online.
On August 26, Cyberleek posted another GTA 6 leak. And as previously warned, this leak seems to be the prologue to the upcoming open-world game. It features Lucia, a character not seen in most of the other leaks. Kotaku will not be sharing direct links to the leaked prologue or revealing spoiler-y details about it in this post.
In the leaked prologue, we see Lucia in prison, which is no surprise as one of the very first things we ever officially saw from GTA 6 was a scene showing Lucia in an orange prison jumpsuit. Other parts of the leaked prologue reveal more about Lucia’s past, but much of the clip is set in that prison we saw back in 2023 in the very first GTA 6 trailer. Ironically, back then many people first saw Lucia in prison via a different leak that saw the debut trailer get posted less than 24 hours before Rockstar had planned to publish it, forcing the company to share the trailer earlier than expected. Now, three years later, I’m watching Lucia in that same prison and prison outfit in a whole different leak. Weird world we live in.
In the leaked prologue, Cyberleek shared a new message via on-screen text. The leaker claims the build is “actually recent” and claims GTA 6 isn’t “ready at all” to ship.
“This build is actually recent, and the game is not ready at all,” claimed Cyberleek in the leaked prologue. “Sony and Rockstar are killing your right to own and resell your games. And Rockstar is killing their own employees, too. The work required to reach gold is way too much for so little time left.”
Of course, we have no idea if Cyberleek is telling the truth. Many online believe the hacker, who is currently being hunted down by online sleuths and Take-Two lawyers, is getting desperate in the lead-up to the official gameplay reveal on August 27. Once that reveal happens, it’s likely that Cyberleek’s gameplay videos of GTA won’t be as exciting to players. That could impact his crypto token, something Cyberleek likely wants to avoid. Posting story spoilers could keep demand up, though many online aren’t happy that the leaker is now sharing spoilers from the upcoming game.
As for Rockstar, earlier today the company publicly addressed the leaks, calling them “heartbreaking” and assuring fans it can’t wait to get Grand Theft Auto 6 in players’ hands and to reveal more about the game on its own terms.
“While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19,” said Rockstar on Wednesday.
