Gamescom 2026 gets underway this week, and it all starts today with Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live showcase. The event is expected to reveal deeper looks at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, The Witcher 3‘s new DLC, and more.

Personally, I’m hopeful we’ll finally get an actual look at Persona 6 gameplay, or anything beyond the logo that was flashed during Xbox’s summer showcase back in June. The showcase begins at 1:00 p.m. ET, with the pre-show currently live. You can watch below:

Gamescom ONL is the midway point between Keighley’s annual world premiere festivities, which are bookended by Summer Game Fest in June and The Game Awards in December. It’s a last hurrah before the fall release calendar kicks into high gear, and hopefully a chance to learn about some new games that haven’t previously been revealed. The show is usually plagued by leaks, but this year’s event seems to be pretty airtight.

That’s either because Keighley has been holding his cards closer to the vest than ever, or because there’s not as much to show off this time around. But with Grand Theft Auto 6 finally out in November, it’s a good time to learn about all of those games that publishers have been holding back to avoid Rockstar’s open-world gravity well.

I’m racking my brain to think of what could be the most shocking thing shown at Gamescom ONL that isn’t Half-Life 3. Bloodborne 2? We’re about to find out.
