Next weekend, that is. Naughty Dog, the game's makers, will roll out a playlist called "The Lab" featuring some tinkered and tweaked gameplay variations but, more importantly, you earn double cash during the first run.
The studio wants your feedback on the playlists and the settings, setting aside new threads on the community forum to gather input. Next weekend, May 28 to June 1, begins with a 2-on-2 team deathmatch, a first-to-25 contest (or 15 minutes, whichever comes first) "to prove your small-team superiority."
"The Lab" on June 11 - 14 will be a shotguns-only configuration, no grenades either. The June 25-28 event gives teams Dragon Sniper rifles, one life per round. "Best of 5 rounds takes the match win. Absolutely tense, totally tactical."
Those are the planned scenarios. Future versions of "The Lab" will run every other week for the foreseeable future. The weekends run from 10 a.m. Pacific time on Friday to 10 a.m. Pacific the following Tuesday. The Double Cash weekend also raises the per-match cash limit to $150,000, as has been the practice.
