Time To Get Rid Of Game Discs

These slides come from mega-publisher EA (Madden, The Sims, Battlefield, Need for Speed) and if you dig into them you’ll see that EA is making a LOT of money off of what they call “digital”. That’s selling games for download, selling DLC, subscriptions, microtransactions. You name it. It…

We here at Kotaku aren’t the only ones with servers in storm-beset New York City. Need for Speed Most Wanted Mobile Is Excellent, Until You Play the Console Version
I’ve been playing the gorgeous mobile version of Need for Speed Most Wanted for the past week, loving every tilt-steering, nitrous-swiping, fender-bending moment. Last night I played the console version of Need for Speed Most Wanted for the first time. I can never go back. Real Racing developer Firemonkeys makes the best racers on iOS…

Okami Looks Better Than Ever
Via Capcom, here’s the launch trailer for Okami HD, which is out today on PSN for $20. Not gonna lie: it’s pretty gorgeous. Okami was already a pretty game when it was released for PlayStation 2 in 2006, and it looks even cooler in high definition. I dig!

This Is What Hurricane Sandy Did To My Neighborhood
I’m one of the lucky ones. I’ve still got power, and despite some flickering, I never lost electricity when the hurricane hit New York City last night. But there’s still some serious damage here on the Upper East Side. Broken trees, destroyed scaffolding, flooded streets. Empty highways: Trees blocking the streets: People WALKING on the…
