After seeing tremendous success with mixed martial arts game UFC Undisputed 2009, THQ is back this year to show of a game sporting more fighters, more combat nuance and robust online support.

At an event last night, the publisher unveiled UFC Undisputed 2010 to an international gathering of gaming press.

The upcoming game will include a roster of more than 100 UFC fighters, famed UFC commentators Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg and the voice of the Octagon Bruce Buffer.

A new Sway System introduced to the combat will allow gamers to control the movements of their fighter's upper body and head so they can better dodge attacks. And a new Posture system will make delivering "fight-ending strike" easier. UFC Undisputed 2010 also brings with it a Southpaw stance and new strikes, submissions, transitions and cage positions, according to the publisher.

Career mode will now include a "game is watching you" system that track your fighter's action to deliver procedural commentary and adjust difficulty. Online in UFC Undisputed 2010 players will be able to form fight camps and leagues to compete against rival camps. You will also be about to host or join co-op sparring sessions.

Finally, the game includes three new gameplay modes:

Title Mode: Players fight through one of UFC's five official weight classes to earn and defend a championship belt.

Title Defense Mode: Players will see a fighter's condition remain persistent but offer milestone challenges built in along the way.

Tournament Mode: Players explore up to 16-player individual and team tournaments within one system. The mode will be compatible with both UFC and created fighters, as well as deliver two unique gameplay styles. Arcade-style play will offer the ability to repeat a fighter's appearance, while simulation play will limit fighter representation to one appearance.

This is probably one of the most important year's for the solidly successful mixed martial arts fighter, with Electronic Arts getting into the game with their own title later in the year. UFC Undisputed 2010 hits the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 this May.

Stay tuned next week for Totilo's one-on-one interview with Dana White, President, of the UFC, though I'm pretty sure it didn't end in any submissions.

You know, UFC 09 is one of the titles I still play on a daily basis. I'm very excited about custom striking attacks for different fighters & an improved ground transition system. I want to see some new defensive techniques in the clinch. Online also needs an upgrade to help make submissions easier to pull off.

I'm so ready for a new UFC title with tweaks. That said, St. Pierre in 3 and Carwin k.o.'s Mir in the first!
