Baseball star turned game developer Curt Schilling and his team at 38 Studios are hard at work on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, perhaps the strongest looking role-playing we’ve ever seen from a professional athlete.

And while I’m sure some of you are thinking “What about Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa?!”, I’m pretty confident in Reckoning’s chances. For one, it looks spectacular, with big bosses, big swords and big hammers. It also has some big names attached to it, including Todd MacFarlane, R.A. Salvatore, and Ken Rolston.
But it’s the screen shots—particularly these three newbies—that have my interest piqued. What do you think?
