This Week's Facebook Losers and Winners: Zynga Only Dominates One of These Charts

For the past couple of months I've been taking time every Monday morning to report on the top ten Facebook games by daily active users. That list has barely budged in four week. Here's a better pair of lists — the top fan gainers and losers of the week, featuring a chart that's almost entirely Zynga!

The fine folks at AppStats give us many exciting ways to track and chart Facebook app data, so since that one list wasn't working out, I switched to something more exciting. These two charts show the top fan gainers and losers by monthly active users. It's a much better way to track trends than a simple list of games with the largest number of players.

For instance, take a look at the top gainers this week. Zynga's recent adventure update for Ruby Blast looks to have done its job, bringing new players to the game in droves.

But it's the only Zynga game on the list. The rest are up-and-coming companies, new games and a pair of mobile titles with Facebook page presence.

So where's all the Zynga? Aside from a game based on Fanta soda and a game I've never heard of, Zynga has got the losers chart covered. Makes sense; they have the most to lose.
