Owlboy is finally coming out. Like for real. This week. It’s here.
The game has been in development for ten years. Originally intended to ship in 2011, development became a long and winding road of what-ifs and some-days. Life is complicated. The team wanted the game to live up to the hype. So instead of coming out five years ago after being nominated for visual excellence at the Independent Games Festival, it’s coming out in mid autumn of 2016. As fine a time as any if you ask me.
Ten years might sound like a long time, and I’m sure it felt like an eternity to the game’s creators, but dazzling sprites like those are worth the wait.
