As we’ve seen, when Japan takes on Star Wars, things can get a little weird. So maybe it’s for the best we never got an anime adaptation of the sci-fi stalwart.

Then again, while the action scenes in this joke trailer are a little patchy – vehicular combat is actually an area 80s anime excelled – sad Luke and a creative re-telling of the Battle of Hoth might have been worth it.
