Gameplay video for Kid Icarus: Uprising flew out of Japan yesterday at the Nintendo World event, showcasing the 3DS and the first dedicated Kid Icarus game since the original 1991's Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters on the Game Boy.

The game's two different difficulty settings will mean greater variances in the levels than just the toughness or power of enemies. Kid Icarus: Uprising will also feature distinctly controlled air- and ground-combat sequences, with the air battles apparently kicking off each stage.

Enemies from the original game appear in updated form in Kid Icarus: Uprising, as earlier screenshots have shown.

The first video (above) shows the air combat gameplay, the second is the ground attack. The third is a somewhat humorous clip of a boss battle involving a very talkative Hydra. Kid Icarus: Uprising is due in the summer.
