The new and (hopefully improved) Poppy is finally live in League of Legends. Now let the click-racing of champion select commence! Read more

Riot’s making a big change to the League of Legends Championship Series format. Starting next summer, North American games will be best-of-3. European games will be best-of-2. The stated purpose of the two different formats is that they want to try both out and see which is better. Read the whole explanation here.

Here’s an interesting League of Legends statistic: Riot’s lead social systems designer Jeffrey “Lyte” Lin told Polygon in a story posted today that games that had a “role conflict or a position conflict in champion select” were 15% more toxic “no matter what happened in the game itself.” Glad they’re addressing that!

Now playing

Out with the old, in with the new. Riot’s released a champion spotlight for Poppy 2.0, the long-awaited rework of one of League of Legends’ oldest and most outdated playable characters. She looks really neat! This probably means she’s coming into the main game in the next week or two, too.

Riot just announced a number of sales it’ll be putting on for League of Legends’ seasonal holiday event “Snowdown,” which will also add a giant Poro King (seen above) to the game’s ARAM map for a limited time. I’d also be into the idea of a Poro champion, but we’ll have to keep waiting for that, sadly. More info here.
