Running with earbuds in usually means picking between hearing your music and hearing the car coming up behind you. Clip-on earbuds solve that by sitting outside your ear instead of plugging the canal, and the SHOKZ OpenDots 2 Open-Ear Clip-On Earbuds are Shokz’s flagship version of the idea. Each bud weighs 6.4 grams and holds two 11.8mm drivers, with upgraded Dolby Audio handling the tuning. You get 10 hours of listening per charge and 40 hours total with the case, and you don’t have to worry about left or right because each bud figures out which ear it’s in.

Head over to Amazon to get the SHOKZ OpenDots 2 Open-Ear Clip-On Earbuds for just $170, down from their usual price of $200. That’s a $30 discount and 15% off.

Clip-on earbuds that deliver fantastic sound for any situation

Bassphere 2.0 is the acoustic system Shokz designed these earbuds around, using two custom 11.8mm drivers in each bud that function like a single 16mm driver. The redesigned diaphragm cuts distortion by 70%, and Dolby Audio in the app adds body to your low frequencies while keeping vocals clear and forward so you can hear them.

A typical concern with an open design is sound leaking out, since anyone close to you can hear what you’re listening to. DirectPitch uses reverse sound waves to direct the sound toward your ear instead of throughout the room. MirrorPitch also directs the sound inward so much of it bounces back to you. Private Mode within the Shokz app limits this even more when you need to be extremely discreet.

The contoured silicone over a flexible nickel-titanium JointArc holds each bud in place during your run, and at 6.4 grams, it’s not heavy enough to press down on your ear for long. Wear detection pauses your music when one is removed and resumes when you put them back on.

Controls function two ways. Tapping the JointArc controls play, pause, and skip. Pinching the battery compartment offers more precise commands, and that pinch uses a force sensor, so accidental touches happen much less often than before. You can customize all the gestures within the app.

There are three microphones used for your calls, and there’s a dedicated bone conduction mic to act as a reference point for the AI to separate your voice from whatever is going on around you. Shokz rates that as clear in wind up to 12 mph.

The SHOKZ OpenDots 2 Open-Ear Clip-On Earbuds can be purchased for $170, down from the original price of $200. Bluetooth 6.1 provides connectivity, MultiPoint lets you connect two devices at the same time, and Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair connect your earbuds. The wireless charging case works with any Qi pad, and the earbuds have a five-minute fast charge that gives you up to two hours of playback.
