If you're worried that Resident Evil 6 won't feature enough content for you, fret not: Capcom has announced that they will be releasing three additional multiplayer modes for the game. All three modes will be timed exclusives for the Xbox 360.

The fact that the three modes share names with three TV shows/movies is likely a coincidence.

From Capcom:

Survivors Mode takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.

In Predator Mode, one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans' task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.

Choosing the human side in Siege Mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.

Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode.

So that's a reality show set on an island, a Schwarzenegger vehicle featuring a dreadlocked alien, and a Denzel Washington movie about terrorism in New York that was, when you think about it, a lot like The Dark Knight Rises. Nice.

Resident Evil 6 comes out on October 2, and a demo will drop next week on September 18th. That seems soon! I was super ready to not care about this game, but Stephen's positive write-up of the first few hours made me at least want to check it out.

This is even more insane than I thought they could be. I mean, I assumed there would be DLC, hell, it's probably on the disc, but announcing three MP modes and making them timed exclusive DLCs? It was bad enough that only certain maps would be playable depending on WHERE you reserved the game, but to further isolate the online modes all but guarantees it will die off quickly.

As much as I want to play the game I am going to have to wait until the "Gold" edition comes out next year, and we all know it will cause it's Capcom.
