Throughout the last full week of June, Amazon had be celebrating its yearly sales event to kick off the summer. We know this as Prime Day. Throughout the event, you could find deals on pretty much everything from TVs to tablets to basketball hoops. Even though Prime Day has officially ended, it seems someone forgot to tell Google.
If we head over to the Pixel Buds 2 Pro product page, we’ll see the price is still at its Prime Day level. For the sales event, Google dropped the price down by 26% and it hasn’t gone back up yet. Normally sold for $229, the discount ends up taking off a good $60. You only have to pay $169 right now and there’s no telling when it’ll shoot back up in price.
Google has a pretty comfortable pair of earbuds on their hands. The Pixel Buds 2 Pro are small and lightweight, so they don’t feel like a nuisance after being worn for a couple hours or more. The earbuds also make use of an intuitive twist-to-adjust design. You can stabilize them in place by twisting them tight, or loosen them for a more relaxed fit.
Twist-to-Adjust
When running on a treadmill or taking part in any high-intensity activity, you can lock them in securely. This also blocks out a bit of outside noise, even without ANC turned on. Then if you’re working at your desk, maybe loosen them up for better comfort, while also letting you hear more of what’s going on around you.
The sound quality with active noise cancellation is impressive thanks to Google’s Silent Seal 2.0 technology. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are better able to block out distracting noises from your environment than previous models had but adapting to the conditions of your surrounding as well as the shape of your ear. Get rid of a ton of the unwanted noise when riding public transit or flying in a plane with the engines burring right next to you.
Conversation Detection really makes the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 shine. The earbuds are able to intelligently identify when you’ve started speaking or someone nearby starts speaking to you. Then they automatically pause your audio and turn on transparency mode which allows external sounds to be played through the earbud speakers. You can start and end a conversation without having to remove your earbuds or even lift a finger. One situation this is especially useful in is waiting in line to checkout, like at a coffee shop. When it’s your turn to order, your music will stop and you’ll be able to hear the barista with no hiccups. Well, I guess unless either of you have the hiccups.
