Sales of Wii Fit continue to astound, with 770,000 copies of the exer-game snapped up by U.S. consumers in January. But what about the knock-offs from publishers smart enough to copy Nintendo's fitness software?

They too, impress. Gamasutra reveals exclusive NPD Group sales data that shows that two of Wii Fit's third-party clones, Majesco's Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009 and Ubisoft's My Fitness Coach, sold well enough in January to land in the top 20 bestselling games in the United States.

Whether that success can be chalked up to Wii Fit owners looking a more strenuous work out or simply a lack of Wii Fit product availability following an even more impressive December we couldn't say.

The top 20 look from NPD shows that more than half of the bestselling games from last month were on Nintendo hardware, with nine Wii games and two Nintendo DS games landing in the bestsellers list.

The Xbox 360 was responsible for eight bestsellers, with just one PlayStation 3 title, Activision's Call of Duty: World At War, selling well enough to place.
