Famed Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto ranks at the top of some 3,000 video game creators' list of "game development heroes," according to a survey from the Develop Conference.
In a poll of over 9,000 game developers worldwide, Miyamoto scored a first place showing, nabbing the presumably coveted award. The Mario and Zelda creator outranked the competition, which includes game development luminaries like John Carmack, Will Wright and Sid Meier. Only one other Japanese video game developer cracked the top ten, PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura.
Rounding out the bottom of the top ten list was Braid creator Jonathan Blow.
