UncategorizedThe Rise And Fall Of Nintendo… As A Rock Band
Link as a European EDM legend. Wario’s dumb laugh. Mario’s sex tape and drug addiction. Skater Mega Man. Bowser’s tiny puppy. Peach’s pop career. The band going viral. Rolling Shell Magazine. Yoshi gets an island. Yoshi gets an island. This video is perfect. I’m not often prone to straight out gushing, but this video re-imagining…

“…a form of cultural necrophilia.”
I’m hesitant to even bring this up because I find the “are games art?” debate useless at best, but Eric Zimmerman makes a good case for how it’s a more damaging fixation than a purely tiresome and annoying one. “Obsession with the question ‘are games art?’ is a form of cultural necrophilia,” he argues, suggesting…

The Struggle To Save League Of Legends‘ Most Neglected Mode
These people don’t play League of Legends like everyone else. They don’t really want to, truth be told. Dominion is a League of Legends mode that the game’s developer Riot released back in 2011 as an experiment. It focuses on capturing/holding locations and quick, frequent skirmishes between players, providing a fast-paced alternative to the main…

UncategorizedOne Diablo III Feature That Gets The Game Back To Its Roots
Every Diablo fan remembers the first time they encountered The Butcher. CultureThe Internet Reacts To Secret Super Smash Bros. Characters
A lot of the Smash Bros. roster might’ve leaked ahead of time, but that didn’t stop anyone from getting hyped on the secret characters found last night via Japanese streams. Today in Things I Never Thought Were Actually Possible, Bandai Namco producer Katsuhiro Harada proposed to fans that maybe, just maybe, a Xenosaga HD Collection could happen. That’d mean a whole new generation of gamers could play through the Xenosaga trilogy, which was released for PS2 earlier this decade as a spiritual successor to the…

UncategorizedStar Wars is Anticlimactic Without Music
Few scenes in film are as triumphant as the end scene from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The pageantry! The celebration! The swelling John Williams soundtrack! Well, maybe it isn’t so impressive when you take away that last bit. Auralnauts reimagined what the end of Star Wars sounded like without all that pesky…

Destiny Needs More Chat Options
We’ve probably all been there at least once before. You’re innocently going about your business, shooting around corners and throwing grenades to cover your teammates when a high-pitched voice on the other end lashes out: “What the f!@#, man! You’re such a !@#$!” In-game socializing doesn’t have the greatest reputation, but that doesn’t mean it’s a…

Let’s Hope The Sims 4 Looks This Good Someday
The Sims has always been a beautiful series of video games. Save for the occasional foray into high fantasy, however, it’s mostly drawn from modern suburbia for its artistic palette. It doesn’t have to be that way, though. Some gorgeous concept art that was recently posted online gives an alternate vision of what The Sims…

I Love Reading Other People’s Sims Stories
Came across this image this morning, with a touching description: My Sim’s wife divorced him, leaving him depressed. He immediately went to cuddle their newborn son, and looked like he was holding tightly to the last piece of his happiness. I love seeing how invested people become in the lives and emotional states of these…
