UncategorizedNightwing DLC Is Arkham Knight’s Best Add-on So Far, But That’s Not Saying Much
The new DLC featuring one of my favorite Bat-characters is the best iteration of a bad formula Story spoilers follow for plot points in Batman: Arkham Knight, including the ending. The latest Arkham Episode designed to extend players’ relationship with the 2015 Bat-game has the same flaws as the Harley Quinn, Batgirl and Red Hood…

Twisted Pixel has split off from Microsoft, and is once again an independent studio, according to a report from IGN This isn’t the first time Microsoft has allowed a developer to go off on their own; it happened to Bungie back in 2007. Given Destiny’s success, perhaps they regret that decision now. Contact the author…

New League Of Legends Skin Makes Brand Look Like The Witch Doctor
Look at this fucking splash art. League of Legends developer Riot Games just added three new champion skins to the hit multiplayer game’s public beta, and staying true to the League brand, they all look very cool. Also very…Blizzard-y? Take Brand, for instance. His base appearance is a dude engulfed in flames with abs so…

UncategorizedThey Made A Sequel to My Singing Monsters. Tell My Kids I Love Them.
Of all the free-to-play mobile games I’ve”donated” to, none received more of my hard-earned cash than Big Blue Bubble’s magical monster music game. Now there’s a sequel, and I am already hooked. My Singing Monsters is a clever combination of music and monster breeding. You begin with a single creature that makes a sound at…

UncategorizedAn Ocelot Never Lets His Prey Escape
Revolver Ocelot, the eccentric gunfighter of the Metal Gear series, returned as a rather calm and reasonable figure in Metal Gear Solid V. He changed a lot. But for some people on YouTube, such as Lakitouille, it wasn’t enough. The top gif is just a tiny part of Lakitouille’s clip. He made an entire compilation…

Guy Builds Gaming Room With Fallout Vault-Tec Door
When the end comes, TreyHill will be safe. And his video games as well, since he built an authentic Vault-Tec Door from Fallout as an entrance to his gaming room. That’s really well done! I guess he’s ready for Fallout 4 To contact the author of this post, write to: [email protected]

UncategorizedBeing a Cardboard Box Sure Looks Fun
And the game itself isn’t called Box Simulator, to boot. That’s a definite plus. Unbox, as it’s known, is an Unreal Engine 4 game about being a self-delivering (ie. live) cardboard box (via Screenshot Daily). It’ll be out on PC next year, featuring a single-player campaign based around physics platforming, and split-screen local multiplayer modes…

Mass Effect Gets Its Own Theme Park Ride
Following Ubisoft’s announcement of their new Malaysian theme park earlier this month, now, we’ve got Bioware talking about a Mass Effect-themed attraction in a US theme park. Smaller in scope, sure, but at least it’s close by. The ride, which will debut at California’s Great America in 2016, is said to be a “dynamic 3D…

A Typical Japanese RPG With an Important Difference: Hardcore Sex
For a Japanese role-playing game, Alpha Ride looks like standard stuff. But for a game with screwing, it’s anything but. Note: Some readers might find the content of this article objectionable. The stereotype is that your typical adult PC game in Japan is set in a high school (or whatnot) and is less about traditional…

In Japan, There’s a Superhero Who…Plants Rice
Meet Chojin Neiger. Unlike other heroes who spend their time battling foes, Neiger is often found farming, not fighting. Japan is filled with cute, local characters. But Chojin Neiger, who takes his look from Power Rangers style heroes, is a bit different! He protects Akita Prefecture, working in the rice paddies. When he’s not doing…

UncategorizedThe New Lupin III Anime’s Opening Does Not Suck
They are making a new Lupin the Third animated series! It’s the first time in three decades! We previously sawfootage of the show, which looked cool. There’s more good news: the show’s opening credits look cool, too. Phew! The Lupin the Third anime has traditionally has had sweet opening sequences, so this might be a…

UncategorizedDestiny Player Wants To Watch The World Burn
The new Sunbreaker class in Taken King is pretty powerful. But it’s not normally this powerful. Either this guy got lucky with the modifier, or Destiny simply shit the bed and couldn’t handle all that murder. (via John Davison)

Hey, Battletech Is Back!
BattleTech, home of classic tabletop action and some excellent video games, is making a digital comeback. This time for the PC. Note before we go any further that we’re talking about BattleTech itself, not its spinoff series MechWarrior Sticking close to its roots, the new game—currently up on Kickstarter—has been designed as “a single-player, turn-based,…

Being An Immortal Dungeon Lord Ain’t Easy
Steve Lichman is a pretty funny comic about a skeletal dungeon lord. Who has problems. The first volume of the comic is pretty much done, but there’s a Kickstarter for a fancy hardcover version here. Looks cool! The comic is a joint effort by Dan Warren and Dave Rapoza, whose art we’ve featured previously on…

HD Remakes Of Old Pixel Games Look Like Hard Work
Whether you love or hate the idea of HD remakes of classic titles, it’s fascinating reading up on just how much work—and deliberation—there is involved in scrapping a game’s entire visual canvas and starting over. When a company remakes a 3D game, it’s not that dramatic! We usually see an increase in the number of…
