Lame iPhone Joke Turned Into Actual Video Game

Back in August, obnoxious PSP spokesboy Marcus Rivers went to town on iPhone gaming, the ad team mocking up a crummy mobile game called "Lame Castle". It's no longer a mock-up.

Bradley Johnson, formerly of Crystal Dynamics, tells Gamasutra "my buddy sent me an e-mail with a link to a PSP ad and wrote, 'We should make this game.'"

"In the ad they're making fun of what looks like an iPhone. The guy in the ad is holding his phone with a game called Lame Castle on it. Once I saw that I wrote back and said, 'Yes, we're going to make that game.'"

So Johnson and his pal did just that. Lame Castle is now playable via web browser plug-in Unity, is out on Android, with an iPhone version also on the way.
