A few months back I left my car in neutral and it rolled out of the garage, down the hill and destroyed a bush. I worried that the landlady would notice the missing shrubbery. Then the plumbers showed up yesterday.
They're replacing some damaged sewer pipe, which requires them to excavate all the way down to the street. The path takes them right through the stump of the boxwood I demolished. Score! So in addition to hanging all weekend with the wacky Czech plumber with the missing fingertips who, if possible, cusses more than I do, I'm exonerated for December's vehicular bushslaughter. He probably wondered why I brought him a beer at the end of the day.
Let's get started on Sunday with our way off-topic open thread. If wacky Czech plumbers aren't enough of a conversation starter, here are three more:
- If you've grown weary of clarifying the differences and commonalities among geeks, dorks, nerds and dweebs, or simply aren't clear on them yourself, here's a handy venn diagram to point you in the right direction.
- A New Hampshire state senator, a Democrat, is in deep dookie forsaying via Facebook that "anime is a prime example of why two nukes just wasn't enough." Whoopsie! The Republicans, that American vanguard of diversity and cultural sensitivity, have demanded a statement of condemnation from the state's governor.
- Some cretin stole a $50,000 tattoo-blasting machine meant to remove nasty ink from former gangbangers and help them get a new life. Here's suspect No. 1.
