Japan's Beer Machine Promises a Perfect Pour

A perfect pour in Japan has just the amount of right amount of head. This beer tap (beer fountain?) tilts the glass, just so. At after the beer is poured, foam jets out, and a creamy head is poured.

I'm not sure if this exists outside of Japan. Perhaps it does.

When I first came to Japan, I would always have my beer sans foam—I thought it was a waste of perfectly good beer glass real estate! Since then, a frothy foam was grown on me.

This photo was snapped this past weekend at a hotel buffet, where my family celebrated my father-in-law's, my brother-in-law's, and my niece's birthdays. And we did that with an beer-pouring machine.
