How Mötley Crüe Helped Save Christmas

Everyone knows that skoad who stole gaming consoles from a children's cancer ward was just arrested. We didn't know that, in addition to industry samaritans, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx was one of the secret Santas replacing the kids' games.

Electronic Arts and Microsoft's Halo Waypoint team were among those contributing game care packages to the Levine Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center in Charlotte, N.C., whose games and consoles were burgled on Dec. 4. Sixx read of the appalling crime and, through his syndicated radio show Sixx Sense, pitched in as well.

Sixx either raised, bought, or arranged for a shipment of Xbox 360s and games to the children's ward, part of the Carolinas Medical Center. It's unclear if cops recovered the items that were stolen, but by now, the kids should be awash in games, both hardware and software, all of it new.

Goes to show that, as that old 1-800 ad for K-Tel's power anthem anthology reminds us, every bad boy has a sensitive side.
