A motley crew of Gotham City impostors sauntering over a pedestrian bridge to work gave us this week's 'Shop Contest inspiration. We've got 20 hilarious impostors-of-impostors in your evening commute, plus a big hand for pan1da7!
Leading off, yes, a lot of people tried the Strutting Leo meme. While Guilherme_B (6) didn't do it first, he did do it the most originally, so his goes in. Speaking of Leo, Trojan211 (20) just cannot be left out for his brilliant Titanic crossover. I'll admit, I cried. And I don't even have a girlfriend.
TV and movie lineups and walkdowns were also a theme, propagated by Stuky (17) superninjaaalex (18), Goufunaki22 (5) and Angryrider (1). I can tell Angryrider that seeing One Police Plaza brings back some awful memories for both Totilo and me. OPP loved to crap on Columbia writers doing crime reporting assignments.
Callbacks: dextrolite (3) gives us Gabe-in-a-box and jjangu (9) dresses up last week's subjects. pnkero (14) gives us the Joker on a runway. stamp.your.foot (16) delivers the Joker, running away.
For overall No. 1, it's not even close. pan1da7 (12) has dominated our #TAYpics but, to my recollection, has been unable to crack the 'Shop Contest's top honors. This week he does, with the second of three versions of his delightful "Justice League Impostors." Fat Flash's depleted look gives me a grin, again and again. Congratulations.
