The GMKtec M6 Ultra gives you all the power of a desktop in a package that’s about the size of a thick paperback. Its AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS CPU is a 6-core, 12-thread processor with integrated Radeon 760M graphics, giving you all the power you need for typical tasks at a fraction of the price of a similarly equipped laptop. You also get 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD, so there’s no worrying about buying additional components before you start using the M6. You can even do some light gaming, and the USB4 port lets you attach an external GPU if you’re looking for more graphical power in the future.

Amazon currently has the M6 Ultra at $550. The list price is $700, so the deal works out to $150 or about 21% off.

A powerful PC in a compact, handy package

The Ryzen 5 7640HS is a capable processor for the price. Its 4nm construction keeps power draw and heat output down, which allows the M6 Ultra to run cool with just a dual-fan setup. You’ll find that productivity software, video playback, and tons of browser tabs all work as well as on a regular-sized desktop. Plus, the integrated Radeon 760M graphics let you run competitive titles like Valorant or CS2 with no sweat.

Expandability is unusual for a machine this size. The 32GB of memory installed across two slots can be replaced with up to 128GB, and the 1TB drive occupies one of two M.2 slots, leaving the second open for an additional drive up to 8TB. That second slot also allows a separate Linux installation alongside Windows without removing the original drive.

You get more connectivity options with the M6 Ultra than with most mini PCs. There’s a USB4 port that can carry data at up to 40 Gbps, and runs up to an 8K external display. If you’re a tinkerer, it has two 2.5-gigabit Ethernet ports, which are great if you want to set the M6 up as a NAS or run open-source router software on it. You also get multiple video-out options in addition to USB4, with HDMI and DisplayPort available and capable of outputting up to 4K at 60Hz.

Wireless networking uses Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2 for keyboards, headsets, and other peripherals. The front panel carries two fast USB-A ports for quick access, with additional USB and a 3.5mm audio jack on the rear. A VESA mount is included, allowing the unit to attach to the back of a monitor and effectively disappear from the desk.

At $550 on Amazon, down from $700, the M6 Ultra delivers a current-generation Ryzen processor, 32GB of memory, a 1TB drive, and USB4 connectivity in a footprint small enough to mount behind a screen. The configuration suits a home office, a media PC, or a low-power always-on machine rather than a high-end gaming rig that needs discrete graphics.
