The feature most likely to sell this TV isn’t on the screen at all: it can send its sound to a pair of wireless headphones, so one person watches late while the rest of the house sleeps. That is one of several sensible touches on Roku’s small set for 2026, which is discounted at the moment, as the Roku 32-inch Select Series TV (2026, 1080p) drops from $179.99 to $99.99 on Amazon, 44% off. The price applies to the 32-inch size in its Full HD version.
Full HD in 32 Inches, With Roku Built In
Resolution is the first thing to check on a television this size, because plenty of 32-inch sets still stop at 720p, and Amazon’s own page lists a 720p style next to this one. Here the panel is 1080p Full HD, which makes a visible difference when the TV sits close to you on a desk or at the foot of a bed. Roku adds a function called Smart Picture that cleans up the incoming signal and selects a picture mode on its own, sparing you a trip through settings menus that few people ever open.
Since the Roku system is built in, there is no stick or box to plug in. Setup takes minutes, according to the company, and the home screen is the familiar grid of apps, with personalized picks, shortcuts to the sports and shows you watch most, and one search for everything. Free content is a large part of the pitch, with live TV, news, sports and movies available without a subscription. Roku also mentions fast Wi-Fi and apps that open quickly, along with themed collections and interactive games for movie nights, extras I would file under nice to have. Updates install automatically, which keeps a cheap TV from feeling abandoned after two years.
Sound gets more attention than usual at this price. Roku says the Select Series speakers are tuned for clear speech and louder output, the two things small TVs tend to get wrong. Pressing the star key on the remote turns the display off while the audio continues, and I can see that being used daily in a kitchen, where a news channel or a music app plays in the background and nobody is looking at the picture. Bluetooth Headphone Mode covers the opposite case, when the sound has to stay private.
Voice control works through Roku Voice on the remote, and the TV also answers to Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. Owners of Apple devices can send videos, photos and music to it with AirPlay, handy for showing the photos from a trip on something bigger than a phone without hunting for a cable. My reservations are about what the listing leaves out: it says nothing on HDR or on the number of HDMI ports, so I’d consider this a second TV for a bedroom, a kitchen or a dorm room and look elsewhere for the main living room screen.
