I spent my 39th birthday doing what I like best: Writing for Kotaku. Just for fun I strapped my and Trish's laptops to my bike and we headed down to the local bookstore to hang-out and drink coffee while I worked on Kotaku and she worked on her second novel.
On the ride back I found $40 lying in the middle of a sidewalk next to the highway, not a soul, not a store around. I would have tried turning it in, but there was nowhere to turn it in to and it was just cash, no wallet, no envelope, no nothing. Weird huh? The modern day equivalent of pennies from heaven I guess.
I'm going to have to buy a stranger a coffee the next time I go through the Starbucks drive-through.
Tonight Trish and I make spaghetti Bolognese from an old family recipe and then drink lots and lots of wine, perhaps not in that order.
