When a delivery robot asked a man to push the crosswalk button for it so it could cross the street, the man filmed the bot, told it to fuck off, and bullied the dumb thing for replacing a human yet still relying on them to do its job.
Last month, a video of a man reportedly in Washington yelling at a Mingo food delivery robot was shared by FilmThePoliceLA on Twitter and has since gone viral, being posted on many other social media services and websites including Reddit and Instagram. In the video, the robot parks near the man on the sidewalk near a street crossing and asks him to hit the crosswalk button. The man refuses multiple times before leaving it trapped at the crosswalk.
Fuck you, Mingo. I’m not helping you. pic.twitter.com/5I2TMsq8gd

“You want me to press the button for you? You want me to press the button for you, Mingo? F**k you! Press it yourself,” says the man in the minute-long video. “You took a human’s job, and you want me to press the button for you?”
Food delivery bots have become more commonplace in big cities in the United States. However, these robots aren’t liked by everyone. They have caused damage to bus stops, invaded active crime scenes, and blocked sidewalks, making it harder for people in wheelchairs to travel. As pointed out by the person in the video, these bots are also taking away jobs despite being unable to hit a button to cross the street safely.
Welcome to the future, where you will soon be replaced by bots to save rich people money, and instead you will serve the bots, like we see with Waymo paying people to close doors left open on its robotaxis. Fun stuff! Anyway, I’m gonna go kick the robot that cleans floors at my local gas station again.
