Ever wonder why Dame Helen Mirren agreed to appear in upcoming Wii ads? Maybe she likes the Wii. But maybe it was the two-day commercial shoot and the very hefty paycheck. Ka-ching!
According to MSN News, the 65 year-old Oscar winner received £500,000 (US$800,000) to appear in a Wii Fit Plus advert. "Nintendo insisted they wanted Helen and no one else," a friend of Mirren's said. "They wanted an older, more attractive woman to show that the Wii isn't just for children."
It's also for rich old Dames!
In the commercial, Mirren says, "You need never get bored as every day you can tailor a new workout." And when you get bored, count your money. That never gets old. Never.
During her lengthy career, Mirren has worked on stage, screen and television. She won an Oscar for her role in The Queen.
