Darth Vader, Being a Total Badass In Star Wars Battlefront

Here’s Darth Vader, single-handedly destroying a Rebel Snow Speeder by throwing his lightsaber into the air. Damn! The moment comes from Muselk, who, funnily enough, had a few traumatic run-ins with Darth Vader earlier in the source (sponsored) video. Then Muselk becomes just Vader and pulls off the awesome moment in the GIF above around…

Mario’s Voice Actor Plays Mario Maker, And It’s A Trip

You’ve probably heard Charles Martinet countless times while traversing the Mushroom Kingdom. But it’s something else entirely to watch the man behind Mario actually play Mario. Nintendo Life recorded Martinet doing all the Mario sounds live while playing Mario Maker, something which you simply must witness: I love how happy he seems playing Mario Maker,…

The Grand Theft Auto Version of Top Gear Is A Blast To Watch

A few fans are putting custom GTA cars to the test in a digital game show, and it’s become one of my favorite things on YouTube. Hosted by Hampyro – Comedy Gaming Channel, the entire thing is a spoof on Top Gear. Every episode has a schtick, known as a “challenge,” which the contestants must…

Minecraft: Story Mode Works Surprisingly Well

The reveal of Minecraft: Story Mode was met with a lot of internet skepticism in 2014—could a narrative-driven take even work for such an open-ended exploration game? I’ve played through the first episode of the new series, and can say with confidence that yes, actually, a story fits Minecraft pretty damn well. Minecraft: Story Mode…

Call of Duty Ditches ‘Archaic’ Campaign Unlock System

Most games force you to play things in a certain order—and that gating can be a drag in certain situations. Black Ops 3, however, is trying something very different. As Eurogamer reports, Black Ops 3 will let players go through the campaign in whatever order they’d like. Wanna start the game right at the end?…

Over A Year Later, Cube World Finally Shows Off A Few New Things

It seems that Cube World is still not dead. For those of you that haven’t been following the drama around this: Cube World is a voxel exploration game that released a playable alpha back in 2013. The alpha was pretty damn good! The quality wasn’t the problem—the issue came with Cube World’s $20 price tag.…

A Horror Game About Losing Your Kid In A Haunted Theme Park

Here’s a horror game that wants to tap into every parent’s worst nightmare: losing a child. It’s called The Park, and it’s a psychological horror game about a mother who has lost her kid in a theme park. In some ways, it seems like almost a large-scale Five Nights at Freddys: carnival-like entertainment gone wrong.…

Horse Game Shows Tony Hawk How To Shred

Video games are beautiful. What you’re looking at above is “Snow Horse,” game that started out as somewhat of a joke, but then ended up morphing into this awesomeness: One of the developers, Christopher Figeroa, says that the points are made-up. You can actually play it however you’d like, which probably adds to the fun.…

Pokémon’s Backstory Might Be Darker Than Most People Realize

The cute monsters are a distraction—there seems to be something much more sinister going on in Pokémon. Hardcore Pokémon fans know this as the “Pokémon War Theory,” which PBS Idea Channel recently outlined in the video above. To understand it, you have to take into consideration a weird quirk of the games: have you ever…

Upcoming Astronaut Space Exploration Game Looks Amazing

Damn. Astroneer wasn’t on my radar before—but it sure as hell is now. Judging from the trailer, the game looks like what you’d get if you combined The Martian, Minecraft, and Journey. Awesome, no? As you can see, you can terraform, explore, and even play with a buddy. All of that looks cool, but what…
