I’m finally burning through my games, Riley. Mass Effect Andromeda is on hold until there’s some more patches and I’ve made it through my catalogue of smaller titles. That leaves two things: Battlegrounds and Persona 5. Both are super great and I’m still amazed I won that Battlegrounds match we livestreamed. I’m Read more

Not really. Been playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper since launch. Still, just because something is “how it’s done” doesn’t mean it should be.

Heroes is great and i pretty generous most of the time. This wasn’t one of those times. And if it gives us a chance to offer a reminder of how crummy gacha can get? Even better. Read more

That’s what the game wants but you don’t have to. As long as the arrow hits, you’re good. You can jump from your horse and still make the shot. Read more

I imagine Vikings will get something pretty quick. The season will have new maps and a bunch of stuff so there’s plenty to go around. Read more

Much like how some of my coworkers focus on YouTube personalities and streamers, I think it’s valuable to write about speedrunners. Stories about what gamers are doing help us understand the culture surrounding the media and surrounding specific games.  Read more

I thought about it! But I had two Kojima games up there and while I think revealing the map during The End’s boss fight is neat, it also kiiinda defeats the purpose of that boss fight. Read more

I feel like you’re posting these things explicitly when I’m not paying attention, Riley. This weekend is a bit different. I’m trying a new game and returning to an old one. Read more

Dang, you’re right. I’ll never be enthusiastic about something I like ever again. Read more

Most speedruns are what’s known as “RTA.” It stands for ‘real time attack’ and means that the time is not recorded off an in-game timer but rather an independent timer. In this case, the timer starts when the new game is selected from the main menu and continues without interruption until the killing blow on Ganon. Read more

Exciting is relative. I think Any% has some wild stuff. There’s a ton of really great stasis launches and the boss strategies are very impressive. It’s not glitch heavy but does a very good job of showing how the game’s various systems interact with drastic results. Read more
